Land Legacy Circle
Our commitment is forever
By naming the Feather River Land Trust as a beneficiary of your will, trust, retirement account, or other plans, you will be making a visionary gift that will ensure the lands and waters of the Feather River region are conserved in perpetuity. Your generosity today helps safeguard a healthy future for generations to come—both human and wild.
I want the Land Trust to continue long after my life so my grandkids can bring their grandkids here to enjoy the beauty and magic of this place and know their grandparents made a difference in this lifetime.
—Clare Churchill, Land Legacy Circle member
The Feather River Land Trust is protecting the places I love. We have to protect the land and preserve clean water. Why wouldn’t someone want to give his or her resources to make that possible?
—Jim Jenner, Land Legacy Circle donor
Knowing that my financial contributions to FRLT will help to conserve and maintain open land in the Feather River region and protect this land from ever being developed provides me with visual confirmation that my very existence will have made a positive impact on our planet. This reassurance nurtures my soul.
—Mary Miles, Land Legacy Circle member
Planned Giving: Ways to Give
By planning a legacy gift, you’re ensuring the Land Trust will be strong well into the future, and you may also be able to reduce your income taxes, capital gains taxes, and estate taxes, depending on your situation.
Will or trust
Most Land Legacy Circle members leave a legacy gift by simply indicating FRLT in their will or living trust. You can consult with your attorney about adding an amendment to your current documents to leave FRLT a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, a specific asset or property, or the remainder of your estate after gifts to your family or other beneficiaries have been made.
Sample language: If you wish to include FRLT in your estate plan, here is suggested language you can review with your attorney: “I give and bequeath to the Feather River Land Trust (Tax ID #: 68-0449687) the sum of___________ (indicate dollar amount, percentage of your estate, or description of specific asset or property) for its general purposes.”
